Erez Sussman, Chief Arborist

Our team is led by chief arborist Erez Sussman, ISA Certified (ISA ON-2156AM) with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Geography (University of Toronto) and additional Graduate studies and collaborative work in the Faculty of Forestry (University of Toronto) where he co-authored the U of T Tree Guide. He is a certified tree risk assessor (TRAQ) and certified municipal arborist (ISA). Erez has a lifetime of experience working with trees and gardens. He has studied Restoration Ecology at the University of Victoria and believes in the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem integrity. Erez can be your partner in assessing, planning, diagnosing, and managing all of your tree care needs. With passion, knowledge, experience, and a friendly attitude, Erez works with a great host of satisfied clients from owners of single trees to large scale urban forest lots. Being from Toronto, it is a lifetime goal of his to enhance the quality and quantity of natural spaces in the city which he calls home. In addition to being a full time arborist, Erez is also a professional musician.


Daniel Torres, Crew Leader

Daniel is deeply passionate about the care and protection of trees, and strives to provide the best possible service. Growing up in El Salvador, he spent time learning, exploring, and caring for tropical trees and plants with family and friends. Horticulturists and agronomists are rooted in his family background, where the values of land and tree preservation were fundamental to coexisting with nature. Having learned the critical role of trees in our ecosystem, Daniel fully understands and embraces the need to preserve our trees in the city, suburbs, and green belts. His favourite tree is the Ceiba pentandra, a native species in Central America.


Ben Gwilliam, Forestry Consultant

Ben is a graduate of the Master of Forest Conservation program at the University of Toronto, currently preparing to be a Registered Professional Forester. Ben has a strong appreciation for the value of our urban canopy and applies his knowledge to help clients develop a relationship with their trees. Ben’s background in forest conservation science lends him strong skills in applied ecology and tree physiology. He uses these skills to provide clients with a holistic tree care experience that considers the urban ecosystem.


Lori Di Monte, Horticultural Consultant

With years of experience, Lori is an invaluable contributor to the Mighty Cedar Tree Care team. Her knowledge of gardens, plants, design, and ecology assist in many projects, ensuring a harmonious relationship between trees and their living relatives in the landscape. She is the owner of Toronto gardening service, Who Does Your Garden, and is a respected member of the local gardening community.


Guillaume Vivé, Permaculture Consultant

Guillaume is a gardener and arborist assistant who is passionate about permaculture. His work aims to unify ecological principles with garden design. He has a tremendous knowledge base, having worked in gardening and permaculture in Toronto and abroad.
